Sachin in Sydney

Read in the newspaper that Sachin, along with 5 others is leaving for Australia on 8/12/11 (Thursday).
I really want to know which airlines is he flying? I believe they fly Qantas.
Feel like going to the airport, but I don't have any more details about his travel.

R.I.P - Amy Winehouse

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no'
Yes I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab but I won't go go go

I'd rather be at home with ray
I ain't got seventy days
Cause there's nothing
There's nothing you can teach me
That I can't learn from Mr Hathaway

I didn't get a lot in class
But I know it don't come in a shot glass

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no'
Yes I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab but I won't go go go

The man said 'why do you think you here'
I said 'I got no idea
I'm gonna, I'm gonna lose my baby
so I always keep a bottle near'
He said 'I just think you're depressed,
this me, yeah baby, and the rest'

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no'
Yes I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know

I don't ever wanna drink again
I just ooh I just need a friend
I'm not gonna spend ten weeks
have everyone think I'm on the mend

It's not just my pride
It's just 'til these tears have dried

They tried to make me go to rehab but I said 'no, no, no'
Yes I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab but I won't go go go

PS: A very troubled soul, needed some help & love from friends & family.

The Cutting Edge

Five surgeons are discussing who were the best patients to operate on.

The first surgeon says, 'I like to see Accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered.'

The second responds, 'Yeah, but you should try Electricians! Everything inside them is colour coded.'

The third surgeon says, 'No, I really think Librarians are the best; everything inside them is in alphabetical order.'

The fourth surgeon chimes in, 'You know I like Construction Workers. Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over at the end, and when the job takes longer than you said it would.'

But the fifth surgeon shut them all up when he observed, 'You're all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There's no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains, and no spine, and there are only two moving parts - the mouth and the arsehole - and they are interchangeable

What is your age?

I saw this classic funny advert on television a few days ago. The ad is about some nutty almond cookie mix.

A kid and his mother r shown in kitchen mixing the. Cookie mix

Kid: Mom, what's ur age?
Mom: Uhhhh, I can't remember really, I guess I have forgotten
Kid: Check ur undies
Mom: My undies?? Y?
Kid: It tells u ur age?
Mom: Really?
Kid: Yes, mine says 5-6

Really funny......

Do Something.......

The following content is directly picked from the website link http://www.dosomething.org/actnow/actionguide/27-things-you-can-do-stop-global-warming
I always wanted to have some valuable contribution towards our lovely planet. And I strongly feel everyone must contribute as much as u can to keep r lovely planet safe

Believe it or not, there are many simple things you can do in your daily life that can have an effect on your immediate surroundings and on places as far away as the South Pole. Here is a list of a few things you can do to make a difference:

Use Compact Fluorescent Bulbs
Which lights in your home do you use the most? Replace them with compact fluorescent bulbs. Three CFBs will save 300 pounds of carbon dioxide and $60 per year!
Inflate Your Tires
Keeping your tires adequately inflated can save you $840 per year and keep 250 lbs. of carbon dioxide out of the air! Check them monthly to be sure.
Change Your Car's Air Filter
Check your car's air filter once a month. You can save $130 per year and keep 100 lbs. of CO2 from entering our atmosphere.
Fill the Dishwasher
Run your dishwasher only when it's full. That'll save $40 and 100 lbs. of CO2 emission a year.
Use Recycled Paper
Make sure your printer paper is 100% post-consumer recycled paper. That saves 5 lbs. of carbon dioxide per ream of paper.
Adjust Your Thermostat
Move your thermostat down two degrees in the winter and up two degrees in the summer. That can save up to $98 and 2000 lbs. of carbon dioxide per year.
Change the AC Filter
Clean or replace dirty air conditioner filters. That'll save 350 lbs. of carbon dioxide and up to $150 per year.
Take Shorter Showers
Did you know that showers account for 2/3 of all water heating costs? So cut your shower short and save 350 lbs. of carbon dioxide and $99 per year.
Install a Low-flow Shower Head
Using less water in the shower not only conserves this precious resource, but it also means less energy is used to heat the water, saving 350 lbs. of carbon dioxide and 150 bucks.
Buy Products Locally
Think about how much oil it takes to get a bottle of water to you from Fiji...
Buy Minimally Packaged Goods
Less packaging reduces garbage by up to 30%. You can also save 1200 lbs. of carbon dioxide and $1,000 per year.
Carpool When You Can
Own a big vehicle? Does one of your friends? Carpooling with friends saves fuel, and you have the added perk of having all your peeps in one car. Even better, you can save 790 lbs. of carbon dioxide and hundreds of dollars per year.
Don't Idle In the Car
How many times have you seen someone sitting in a car while it's running? Are you guilty of this? Idling wastes money and gas, and generates pollution and global warming-causing emissions. Turn your engine off if you have to wait for more than 30 seconds- except of course when in traffic.
Drive Less
Walk, bike, carpool, or take mass transit. You'll save one pound of CO2 for every mile you don't drive!
Reduce Garbage
Recycle paper, plastic and glass, and buy products with less packaging. This can save 1,000 lbs. of carbon dioxide a year.
Plant a Tree
Trees suck up CO2 and create clean air for us to breathe. A single tree will absorb a ton (that's 2000+ lbs.) of CO2 over its lifetime.
Use a Push Mower
We all have chores. Some of us have to mow the lawn. When you do, use your muscles instead of fossil fuels. You'll save 80 lbs. of CO2 per year and you'll get some exercise!
Unplug Un-Used Electronics
Even when electronic devices, like your stereo and phone charger, are turned off, they use energy, so unplug 'em and save over 1,000 lbs. of CO2 and $256 a year.
Put on a Sweater
Instead of turning up the heat, put on another layer. You can save 1,000 lbs. of CO2 from entering the atmosphere and $250 a year.
Wash your Clothes on the Cold Water Cycle
You'll save energy because the water isn't being heated, and your clothes will last longer.
Air Dry Your Clothes
If the weather permits, how about putting your laundry on the line to dry? You'll save 700 lbs. of CO2 and up to $75 a year. Plus, there's no better stain remover than the sun.
Buy Organic Food
The chemicals used in modern agriculture aren't just bad for your body, they also pollute the water supply and are mostly made of petroleum.
Bring Cloth Bags to the Market
When the check-out person asks, "Paper or plastic?," say, "Neither." Using your own cloth bag reduces waste and requires no additional energy.
Turn Off Your Computer
Shut it off when you're not using it and save 200 lbs. of CO2. Conserve energy by using your computer's "sleep mode" instead of a screensaver.
Eat Your Greens
The average American diet is full of meat products and thus contributes an extra 1.5 tons (that's 2500+ lbs.) of greenhouse gases per year, compared with a vegetarian diet. Eating 20% less meat makes the same impact as switching to a hybrid car!
Ditch the Plastic
2.5 million individual plastic water bottles are thrown away every hour in the US alone! A plastic bottle thrown in a landfill will still be a plastic bottle in 200 years because plastic is not biodegradable! Start using a reusable water bottle and just say no to plastic!
Spread the Word
Get out there and tell your friends and loved ones the small steps they can take to help Mother Earth. A little goes a long way!

Value of Rs.500

Hi Everybody

Came across this video on youtube recently. Its worth a thought .....

So tell me what would you do with Rs.500
Dot a line in comments

Cheers!

Sachin ....

Finally, the 200 he deserved......
Coming from the only man, who well deserved it, who has given so much to the world of cricket, also set a new benchmark to beat, almost impossible.....

A Spectacular display of talent & certainly a role model .....
I was & still am, absolutely speechless about the innings & the glory to Sachin's destiny.

I know this post is coming quite late, but i guess better late than never.

Some of the gr8 quotes by some gr8 players proves Sachin's calibre & every bit of success he deserves. Read on .....

I saw him playing on television and was struck by his technique, so I asked my wife to come look at him. Now I never saw myself play, but I feel that this player is playing much the same as I used to play, and she looked at him on Television and said yes, there is a similarity between the two...hi compactness, technique, stroke production... it all seemed to gel! in reference to Sachin Tendulkar.
-
Sir Don Bradman

India's fortune will depend on how many runs the little champion scores. There is no doubt Tendulkar is the real thing.
-
Sunil Gavaskar

He has defined cricket in his fabulous, impeccable manner. He is to batting what Shane Warne is to bowling.
-
Richie Benaud

Sachin is cricket's God!
-
Barry Richards

Harder he works, the luckier he gets.
-
Ian Chappell

Technically, you can't fault Sachin. Seam or spin, fast or slow nothing is a problem.
-
Geoffrey Boycott

He is Sachin Tendulkar. I hope he stays Sachin Tendulkar. We need a new player, a player in his own way. He has a technique which is the hallmark
of a great player. Everything indicates that he will be a great player and I am sure he will prove me right. Reminds me of Barry Richards.
-
Eddie Barlow

He is a perfectly balanced batsman and knows perfectly well when to attack and when to play defensive cricket. He has developed the ability to treat bowlers
all over the world with contempt and can destroy any attack with utmost ease.
-
Greg Chappell

I'll be going to bed having nightmares of Sachin just running down the wicket and belting me back over the head for six. He was unstoppable. I don't think anyone, apart from Don Bradman, is in the same class as Sachin Tendulkar. He is just an amazing player.
-
Shane Warne

I think he is marvellous. I think he will fit in whatever category of Cricket that has been played or will be played, from the first ball that has ever been bowled to the last ball that's going to be. He can play in any era and at any level. I would say he's 99.5% perfect.
-
Viv Richards

Today, he showed the world why he is considered the best batsman around. Some of the shots he played were simply amazing. Earlier, opposing teams used to feel that Sachin's dismissal meant they could win the game. Today, I feel that the Indian players, too, feel this way.
-
Wasim Akram

Beneath the helmet, under that unruly curly hair,
inside the cranium, there is something we don't know, something beyond scientific measure. Something that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that, forget us, even those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot even fathom. When he goes out to bat, people switch on their television sets and switch off their lives.
-
BBC Sports

I Was fielding in the covers Tendulkar came out to bat in his debut Test at Karachi. I still remember Waqar Younis was at his peak form at that time. Tendulkar tried to drive Waqar through the covers off his very first ball in Test cricket but was beaten all ends up. But I walked to captain Imran Khan and told him 'this kid looks very good' and Imran agree with me.
-
Abdul Qadir

I have watched a lot of Tendulkar and we have spoken to each other a lot. He has it in him to be among the very best.
-
Sir Garfield Sobers

Don't bowl him bad balls, he hits the good ones for fours.
-
Michael Kasprowicz

If I've to bowl to Sachin, I'll bowl with my helmet on. He hits the ball so hard.
-
Dennis Lillee

I still think Tendulkar is the best batsmen in the world ahead of Steve Waugh and Lara.
-
Glenn McGrath

What we (Zimbabwe) need is 10 Tendulkars.
-
Paul Strang

Sometime back I had written a piece that said that Sachin's the master and Lara a genius with his head high up somewhere. That's it!
-
Peter Roebuck

Sachin is an attacker. He has much more power than Sunny. He wants to be the one to set the pace. He has to be on top. That's the buzz about him.
-
Jeff Thompson

Tendulkar is the most complete batsman I have stood behind. I saw the hundred in Perth on a bouncy pitch with Hughes, McDermott and Whitney gunning for him he only had 60-odd when No 11 came in. I've seen him against Warne too.

Sachin's the best. I've had this view since I saw him score that hundred in Sydney in 1992. He's the most composed batsman I've ever seen.
-
Mike Coward

The pressure on me is nothing as compared to Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin, like God, must never fail. The crowd always expects him to succeed and it is too much pressure on him
- Mark Waugh

Sachin is a genius. I'm a mere mortal.
-
Brain Lara

His life seems to be a stillness in a frantic world... [When he goes out to bat], it is beyond chaos - it is a frantic appeal by a nation to one man. The people see him as a God...
-
Mathew Hayden

It was one of the greatest innings I have ever seen. There is no shame being beaten by such a great player, Sachin is perhaps only next to the Don.
-
Steve Waugh

You might pitch a ball on the off stump and think you have bowled a good ball and he walks across and hits it for two behind midwicket. His bat looks so heavy but he just waves it around like it's a toothpick.

Brett Lee

Hope many more such centuries....
I m still lost for words

Cheers!

And another .....

Courtesy : Cricinfo.com

Hello everybody,
What a master class, another century, another milestone, a true legend, Sachin .......

Just read his achievement so far .....

Test matches:
Number of matches - 156
Runs scores - 12429
Highest score - 248 not out
Average - 54.27
100's - 41
50's - 51

One Day International:
Number of matches - 425
Runs scores - 16684
Highest score - 186 not out
Average - 44.37
100's - 43
50's - 91

Truly a master class.

I was really confident of him scoring the first ever 200 by a batsman in ODI that other night against New Zealand, with the pace he was scoring with another 5 others to bowl, looked easy, but he had done enough, & i respect his decision for not pushing his body in danger of further damage & retiring hurt.
But as i m saying it again n again, what a master class of play.

Now the following is my dream:
I m watching the final of World Cup 2011 at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. India playing the final, (not worried who the opponent is) Sachin scores a century again, that should be his atleast 50th ODI hundred. India to win the match & the World Cup, Sachin's first & final world cup win, Sachin is the man of the match & the player of the tournament. What a dream finish!

Anyways, i m confident that my dream will come true.

Have a good day guys,
Cheers!

"Love & Marriage"

Hi Everybody,
How u all doin? I hope everyone is good, safe & surviving from the recent crunch thats affected the whole world.

Anyways, following post is an email forward to me by my school friend Asim Pereira, who is getting married on May 2, '2009. Its funny ..... Enjoy!

A student asked a teacher, "What is love?"

The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the wheat field and choose the biggest wheat and come back.
But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."
The student went to the field, went thru first row, he saw one big wheat, but he wondered....may be there is a bigger one later.
Then he saw another big one... but may be there is a bigger one waiting for him, he thought.
Later, when he finished more than half of the wheat field, he start to realize that the wheat is not as big as the previous one he saw, he knows he has missed the biggest one, and he regrets.
So, he ended up going back to the teacher empty handed.
The teacher told him, "...this is love... you keep looking for a better one, but
later you realise, you have already missed the person...."

"What is marriage then?" the student asked.
The teacher said, "in order to answer your question, go to the corn field and choose the biggest corn and come back. But the rule is: you can go through them only once and cannot turn back to pick."
The student went to the corn field, this time he is careful not to repeat the previous mistake, hence, when he reached the middle of the field, he picked one medium corn that he felt satisfied with, and came back to the teacher.
The teacher told him, "this time you brought back a corn.... you looked for one that is just nice, and you had faith and believed that this is the best one you will get.... this is marriage."*

Nice one, isn't it?

And here are some of the transformations over a period of time.

Why are all clocks on 10:10 .......

Well i have been thinking about this for a while & trying to do a bit of research to find out, why does all the clock in ads or on displays are on 10:10 .....

There are a lot of conspiracy theories that i came across while i conducted my research. Some of which i m gonna share with u now & then if anyone has a different answer or has come across a much better reason, drop in a line, well u can drop in a line anyways .....

1. Most watch companies have their logo under the 12, hence it gives a good look of the logo if the clock is set at 10:10
2. Its a smiley face
3. JFK was shot at 10:10 & its a tribute to him
4. Lincoln was shot at 10:10, hence its a tribute to him
5. Its gives a sensation of something friendly & welcoming (open arms)
6. Its a promoto for safe driving ( keep ur hands on the wheel at 10 to 2 position)

Well that is pretty much what my research revealed, let me know if u have any more information on it.
Have a good weekend everyone..
Cheers!

Sunscreen....

Hello Everybody,
This is the most inspirational song i ve heard & i believe everyone must listen to it atleast once in life.....

Everybody is free to wear Sunscreen - Baz Luhrmann

Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’97
Wear Sunscreen
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.
The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience…
I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked….
You’re not as fat as you imagine.
Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.
The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you

Sing....
Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.

Floss....
Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.

Stretch....
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.
Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…
what ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s.
Enjoy your body, use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own..

Dance….
Even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.

Brother and sister together we'll make it through....Someday your spirit will take you and guide you there....I know you've been hurting, but I've been waiting to be there....For you. And I'll be there, just tell me now, whenever I can...

Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future. Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you should hold on.
Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you
knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.

Travel....
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders. Respect your elders.
Don’t expect anyone else to support you.
Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one might run out. Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it.
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

But trust me on the sunscreen…

Brother and sister together we'll make it through....Someday your spirit will take you and guide you there....I know you've been hurting, but I've been waiting to be there....For you. And I'll be there, just tell me now, whenever I can....Everybody's free....

Thats all for now guys,
Have a lovely weekend

Cheers!

Onkar - The Painter

As every year my sister sent me the "Kalnirnay" calendar just a few days ago. And this time i had a surprise along with the calendar. Nobody told me this before when i called them & i was completely unaware about this.

Look at that scenery. Isn't  that just wonderful ? I mean, its drawn by a mere 7 year old. I was not only surprised by that accurate objects but also by the colour coding & shading. As rightly said "Imagination had no bounds". Just superb.

I was thrilled to see that. I mean i did draw fairly well, but at the age of 7, just mind blowing. And then when i called him to tell him how good it was, the first question he asked me was, how did u like my surprise, mama? And u guys can almost guess what my reaction would have been.

Not to end it there check the following greeting he made & sent it to me.

Now isn't that just gr8. I have no words. What a beautiful christmas tree & a gift box. I just love him. He is such a cutie pie.
He just made my christmas & new year.

Anyways guys, i m now in canberra, travelling a bit & enjoying the lovely summer.
Have a good one.
Cheers!
