Mumbaikars ....

This is what i received today in mail, something very true about mumbai. Living there makes you believe in what you are .... Well the mail had something to say ....

Dear Terrorist,
Even if you are not reading this we don't care. Time and again you tried to disturb us and disrupt our life - killing innocent civilians by planting bombs in trains, buses and cars. You have tried hard to bring death and destruction, cause panic and fear and create communal disharmony but everytime you were disgustingly unsuccessful. Do you knowhow we pass our life in Mumbai? How much it takes for us to earn that single rupee? If you wanted to give us a shock then we are sorry to say that you failed miserably in your ulterior motives. Better look elsewere, not here.We are not Hindus and Muslims or Gujaratis and Marathis or Punjabis and Bengalies. Nor do we distinguish ourselves as owners or workers, govt employees or private employees. WE ARE MUMBAIKERS (Bombay-ites, if youlike).
We will not allow you to disrupt our life like this. On the last few occassions when you struck (including the 7 deadly blasts in asingle day killing over 250 people and injuring 500+ in 1993), we went to work next day in full strength. This time we cleared everything within a few hours and were back to normal - the vendors placing their next order, businessmen finalizing the next deals and the office workers rushing to catch the next train. (Yes the same train you targetted)
Fathom this: Within 3 hours of the blasts, long queues of blood donating volunteers were seen outside various hospital, where most of the injured were admitted. By 12 midnight, the hospital had to issue a notification that blood banks were full and they didn't require any more blood. The city has simply dusted itself off and moved on - perhaps with greater vigour.
We are Mumbaikers and we live like brothers in times like this. So, do not dare to threaten us with your crackers. You might kill a few people but the spirit of Mumbai is very strong and can not be harmed.

From,
The Mumbaikers.

Imagine .....

There is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out ALL OF IT, of course!!!!

Each of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow." You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success! The clock is running. Make the most of today!

God's Cake ....

A young man is telling his Grandma how everything is going wrong -- school problems, friend problems, family problems, financial problems, severe health problems, etc. Meanwhile, Grandma is baking a cake. She asks her grandson if he would like a snack, which, of course, he does. "Here, have some cooking oil". "Yuck" says the young man. "How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Grandma!" "Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Grandma, those are all yucky!" To which Grandma replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good. We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!" God is Crazy About You. He sends you flowers every Spring, a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and he chose your heart.

Smile for you .....

Smiling is infectious; you catch it like a flu,
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner and someone saw my grin
When he smiled i realised i'd pass it on to him.
I thought about that smile then i realised its worth,
A single smile, just like mine could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin, dont believe it undetected.
Lets start an epidemic quick, and gets the world infected!

Satisfaction Test .....

A little boy went into a drug store, reached for a soda carton and pulled it over to the telephone. He climbed onto the carton so that he could reach the buttons on the phone, and proceeded to punch in seven digits. The store owner observed and listened to the conversation:
The boy asked, "Lady, can you give me the job of cutting your lawn? The woman replied, "I already have someone to cut my lawn."
"Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price of the person who cuts your lawn now," replied the boy. The woman responded that she was very satisfied with the person who was presently cutting her lawn.
The little boy found more perseverance and offered, "Lady, I'll even sweep your curb and your sidewalk, so on Sunday you will have the prettiest lawn in all of North Palm beach, Florida."
Again the woman answered in the negative. With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver.
The store owner, who was listening to all this, walked over to the boy and said, "Son, I like your attitude. I like your positive spirit and would like to offer you a job."
The little boy replied, "No, thanks, I was just checking my performance on the job I already have. I'm the one who is working for that lady I was talking to!"

One Paragraph Explains Life .....

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which hegot due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983.From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of whichconveyed: "Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"?To this Arthur Ashe replied: The world over -- 50,000,000 children startplaying tennis, 5,000,000 learn to play tennis, 500,000 learnprofessional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grandslam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, When I washolding a cup I never asked GOD "Why me?". And today in pain I shouldnot be asking GOD "Why me?"
