Is this TRUE ??

(Looks like very important information, received a mail today and thought of sharing with all u people)

PIN NUMBER REVERSAL (YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS)

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin number in reverse.
For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you.
This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that it is seldom used because people don't know it exists.

PS: Has anyone heard of any such incident of faced it themselves ??

Kalpana : Yeah i knew it now only.

priya : prety new for me as well, i dont know if its true, coz no one ever mentioned me about this even after having several ATM cards.
I doubt even if the banking employees know it themselves.

Hi Vaibhav,
I just received one mail regarding this stuff... i'm forwarding that mail.. it says that entering one's Personal Identification Number (PIN) in reverse at Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) does not summon the police.
